Your OKX account
is blocked?
OKX publishes five kinds of account restriction. They differ in who has to act, what has to be submitted, and whether an appeal is possible at all — so the first job is telling them apart.

Select what matches your situation
OKX flagged the account rather than a single transaction.
Account restricted
Our risk system identified unusual activity on your account.
What it means
The risk-system category: OKX states its risk system identified unusual or suspicious activity on your account.
What OKX requires
A ticket that explains the situation and asks for a manual review — that is the route OKX names for this case.
Your first step
Explain the activity that is actually in question. A ticket that only asks for the restriction to be removed gives the reviewer nothing to review.

The five restrictions OKX names
These are OKX's own categories, in its own words. The response that works for one of them does nothing for another.
Risk system detection
OKX states its risk system identified unusual or suspicious activity on the account. Its instruction for this category is to contact support through the ticket, explain the situation and request a manual review. No timeframe is published for it.
Additional information required
OKX needs more information to continue providing services. Documents are submitted by email or in-app; OKX states review timelines vary depending on the verification required, and asks you to contact support if there is no update after 48 hours.
Periodic compliance review
A scheduled review that is part of OKX's compliance obligations rather than anything you did. It requires supporting documents to complete verification, and OKX states the duration varies with the nature of the restriction and the complexity of the case.
Confirmed Terms of Service violation
OKX states these generally cannot be appealed. What the notification carries instead is a deadline to withdraw remaining crypto — OKX names windows such as 14, 30 or 180 days — and that deadline is the thing to act on.
Abnormal login detection
Triggered by the login pattern rather than by trading. OKX suggests completing identity re-verification through the Security Center first, and contacting support for a manual review and appeal only if that does not resolve it.
Where an AML risk-control review is running, OKX describes an audit specialist contacting you and sending the audit content to the mailbox bound to the account, with a review cycle of about 1–3 working days.
5 things that will make the situation worse
Do not open a ticket for the wrong category
A ticket asking for a manual review of a periodic compliance check, or an appeal against a confirmed Terms of Service decision, spends the time you have on a route OKX has already said is not the one.
Do not chase before 48 hours on an information request
OKX names 48 hours as the point to contact support if there is no update. Repeated tickets before that do not accelerate a review that has not stalled.
Do not spend the withdrawal window arguing
Where OKX states a confirmed violation generally cannot be appealed, the deadline for withdrawing remaining crypto is the part of the notice that still has consequences.
Do not send documents that contradict what OKX already has
A compliance review compares your answer with your account history. Inconsistencies extend a review that OKX says already varies with the complexity of the case.
Do not accept help from anyone claiming an inside route to OKX
There is no private channel. Every category OKX documents is answered in the ticket system, the bound mailbox or the Security Center.
A confirmed violation of our Terms of Service generally can't be appealed — the notification email states the period within which remaining crypto must be withdrawn.

What to check first on OKX
Identify which of the five you have
The in-app banner and the email name the category. Everything else follows from it, including whether an appeal exists.
Check the bound mailbox
OKX contacts you at the mailbox bound to the account, and an AML audit specialist sends the audit content there.
Try the Security Center for a login case
For abnormal-login restrictions OKX suggests completing identity re-verification there before opening a ticket.
Note the deadline, if there is one
A Terms of Service notification carries a withdrawal window. That date, not the appeal, is what governs the case.
What OKX may ask you for
OKX asks for documents in three of its five categories, and it says how they are submitted: by email or in-app, in response to what it has asked for.
Documents requested in the restriction notice
OKX states that where it needs additional information to continue providing services, you submit the requested documents by email or in-app.
Supporting documents for a periodic review
For a compliance-driven review, OKX asks for supporting documents to complete verification.
Audit materials for an AML review
Where the anti-money-laundering risk control system is triggered, OKX describes an audit specialist sending the audit content to your bound mailbox, and the account being unfrozen once the materials are verified and no risk is found.
Identity re-verification through the Security Center
For an abnormal-login restriction, the first thing OKX suggests is not a document at all but re-verifying identity yourself.
OKX publishes an AML review cycle of about 1–3 working days, and asks you to contact support where an information request produces no update after 48 hours. It does not publish a timeframe for risk-system restrictions.

When was your account blocked?
What we actually do
Place your case in OKX's own taxonomy
Five categories, five different correct actions. Most wasted effort on OKX comes from answering a compliance review as if it were a security flag.
From: compliance@okx.com
Your account flagged for suspicious activity. Please complete KYC verification.
Assemble what a reviewer will compare against
The transfers, counterparties and period the review is likely to cover, so the submission is consistent with the account.
Write the ticket that fits the category
A manual-review request for a risk flag reads differently from a document submission for a periodic review. We help make it the right one.

Prepare the audit materials in order
For an AML review the audit content arrives in the bound mailbox with a list. Answering all of it once beats answering part of it three times.
Say when the case is closed
Where OKX states the decision is generally not appealable, the honest advice is to use the withdrawal window rather than pay anyone to fight it.
The decision is always the exchange's. What we control is that your case reaches it complete, correct and on time.

OKX froze my account after I logged in from a new country. What now?
That is the abnormal-login category. OKX suggests completing identity re-verification through the Security Center first; if that does not resolve it, its route is a support ticket for manual review and appeal.
