Your HTX account
is blocked?
HTX names four reasons an account gets restricted and publishes a five-working-day review for the one that matters most. It also says, in its own words, that nobody legitimate charges a fee to unfreeze anything.
We are not employees of HTX. Independent consulting.
Your account has been temporarily restricted due to unusual activity. Withdrawal and trading functions are currently unavailable.

Select what matches your situation
Nothing else about the account has changed.
Withdrawals restricted
Recent security changes have restricted withdrawals for 24 hours.
What it means
HTX restricts withdrawals for the next 24 hours after modifications to account and security settings.
What HTX requires
Nothing. HTX states the restriction is automatically lifted after 24 hours.
Your first step
Wait it out and avoid making further changes, each of which restarts the same window.

The four causes HTX names
HTX states that when account operations or transactions trigger its risk control rules, some or all functions of the account may be restricted. These are the situations it lists.
A change to account and security settings
HTX restricts withdrawals for the next 24 hours after account and security settings are modified, and states the restriction is automatically lifted after that period.
The anti-money-laundering risk control system
Triggering it may restrict some functions. This is the case with a published route and a published review window, and it is the one most restricted HTX accounts are in.
Suspicious inflows of assets on the chain
HTX states these usually come from a risky address at the point of deposit — the trigger is the provenance of what arrived, not what the account holder did with it.
A freezing order from a judicial authority
HTX states that it must cooperate with the judicial assistance of authorities in various countries and regions, and that after receiving a freezing order it restricts some or all account functions and freezes assets according to the requirements of that order.
Withdrawal limits, which are a separate matter
HTX publishes its own guidelines for requesting the removal of withdrawal limits, separately from anything to do with a restricted account.
Only two of the four have a route the account holder controls. A 24-hour settings restriction ends by itself, an AML restriction is answered through the Security Questionnaire, and a judicial freeze is executed against an order the exchange did not write.
5 things that will make the situation worse
Do not pay an unfreezing fee or a handling fee
HTX states in its own material that this service is completely free and that anyone requesting payment under those descriptions is attempting a scam.
Do not share sensitive information with non-official parties
HTX's warning names this alongside the payment itself, and it is the part that does the lasting damage.
Do not submit the questionnaire from a link you were sent
HTX states it is completed by logging in to its official web page. A questionnaire reached any other way is not HTX's.
Do not keep changing security settings during a restriction
Each modification restarts the 24-hour withdrawal restriction that follows it.
Do not expect the questionnaire to answer a judicial freeze
HTX describes the two as separate causes, and the freezing order is executed according to the requirements of the authority that issued it.
HTX only processes withdrawal limit removal requests through official methods and this service is completely free; any individual requesting payment under the guise of unfreezing fees or handling fees is attempting a scam.

What to check first on HTX
Check whether a 24-hour window is running
Modifying account and security settings restricts withdrawals for the next 24 hours and lifts automatically.
Find the Security Questionnaire
HTX states it is completed by logging in to its official web page. That is the route for an anti-money-laundering restriction.
Trace the deposit that preceded the restriction
Suspicious on-chain inflows are one of HTX's four named causes, and they usually arrive from an address the account holder did not choose.
Allow five working days after submitting
HTX asks users to wait patiently within five working days for the review, after which the account can be unfrozen if there are no issues with the information.
What HTX may ask you for
HTX's requirements centre on one instrument rather than a document list, which makes the submission itself the thing worth preparing.
The HTX Security Questionnaire
Completed after logging in to HTX's official web page. It is the named route for an anti-money-laundering restriction.
The relevant information submitted with it
HTX states the account can be unfrozen where the submitted information has no issues after being reviewed and approved.
Whatever the official withdrawal-limit route asks for
HTX publishes separate guidelines for requesting the removal of withdrawal limits and states the service is free.
Nothing sent to a third party
HTX states it only processes withdrawal limit removal requests through official methods.
The five working days HTX publishes are for the anti-money-laundering review after the questionnaire is submitted. It publishes no timeframe for a judicial freeze, and this page does not offer one.

When was your account blocked?
What we actually do
Match the restriction to one of the four causes
A settings window, an AML trigger, a flagged deposit and a judicial order need four different responses.
From: compliance@htx.com
Your account flagged for suspicious activity. Please complete KYC verification.
Trace what arrived before the restriction
Where a risky on-chain inflow is the trigger, the explanation is in the deposit history rather than the trading history.
Prepare the Security Questionnaire submission
One instrument, one review, five working days. What goes into it is effectively the whole case.

Assemble the supporting information
HTX unfreezes where the submitted information has no issues, so the supporting material is what the decision is made on.
Repeat the exchange's own warning
HTX says the service is free and that a fee request is a scam. We would rather quote it than compete with it.
The decision is always the exchange's. What we control is that your case reaches it complete, correct and on time.
