    Your Bybit account
    is blocked?

On Bybit, a withdrawal that will not go through is more often a maintenance window, an asset lock or a security cooldown than a frozen account. Each has its own duration, and knowing which one you have decides whether there is anything to do.

    BYBITALERT

    Withdrawal unavailable

This wallet is under maintenance. Withdrawals are temporarily suspended.

    What it means

A wallet maintenance window or a network upgrade for that specific asset — Bybit suspends deposits and withdrawals for the duration.

    What Bybit requires

Nothing from you. Bybit publishes alerts for these and, where the coin exists on several chains, another network can be used.

    Your first step

Check whether the asset supports an alternative network before contacting support at all.

Why a Bybit withdrawal or account gets blocked

Bybit documents these as separate mechanisms with separate durations. Four of the five below end by themselves.

    01

Wallet maintenance or a network upgrade

Bybit temporarily suspends deposits and withdrawals for a coin while its wallet is under maintenance or the network is upgrading. It publishes alerts for these and, where the asset supports more than one chain, points users to another network in the meantime. Nothing about your account is restricted.

Assets locked after a Buy Crypto purchase

Where risk or abnormalities are detected in an account, Bybit states that assets purchased through Buy Crypto are temporarily locked for withdrawal. The balance is yours and visible; it is the withdrawal of those particular funds that is held.

    A fiat asset protection hold

Bybit states that depending on an account's security status, fiat assets may be temporarily locked for withdrawal for 1 to 7 days as an asset protection measure. It is a window, not a decision.

    04

A cooldown after reactivating the account

Once an account is reactivated, Bybit restricts withdrawals for 24 hours. Accounts suspended over security concerns cannot use the self-reactivation service at all and go through support instead.

    05

A withdrawal address the risk system questions

Bybit shows a risk warning when its system detects a potential security risk in the withdrawal address. That is a judgement about the destination, and it is worth reading rather than clicking past.

A negative balance in the Funding Account has its own effect: Bybit suspends the Bybit Card and restricts withdrawals from the account until it is cleared.

5 things that will make the situation worse

    01

Do not act on a Bybit email without the anti-phishing code

Bybit states that if the code is missing or incorrect the email or SMS may be fraudulent, and that you should not click any link or take any action it indicates.

    02

Do not click past a withdrawal address risk warning

It is shown when Bybit's system detects a potential security risk in the destination address, and a crypto transfer cannot be recalled afterwards.

    03

Do not open a ticket about a maintenance window

Bybit publishes these as alerts and suspends the asset for everyone. Support cannot end a network upgrade early.

    04

Do not expect withdrawals immediately after reactivation

Bybit restricts withdrawals for 24 hours once an account is reactivated. That is documented behaviour, not a second problem.

    05

Do not deal with anyone claiming to be Bybit outside its own channels

Bybit runs an Authenticity Check page precisely so impersonation on a website, email, social network or messenger can be reported and verified.

    “

If you have enabled the anti-phishing code for your account, but it is missing or incorrect, the email or SMS may be fraudulent. In such cases, do not click any links or take any action indicated in the message.

    — Bybit Help Center, How to Set Up the Anti-Phishing Code

What to check first on Bybit

    1

    Check whether it is maintenance

Bybit publishes alerts for wallet maintenance and network upgrades, and you can subscribe to them per asset. A suspended coin is not a suspended account.

    2

Check the anti-phishing code on the message

Bybit's anti-phishing code appears in all official emails and text messages once you set it. If it is missing or wrong, the message is not from Bybit.

    3

Work out what kind of hold it is

A Buy Crypto asset lock, a 1–7 day fiat hold, a 24-hour post-reactivation restriction and a suspended account are four different things with four different endings.

    4

Use the support route for a security suspension

Where self-reactivation does not apply, that is the documented path — and the Authenticity Check page is where an impersonation attempt gets reported.

What Bybit may ask you for

Bybit publishes far more about durations than about documents. What it does document is identity verification and the security state of the account — which is what most of its holds are keyed to.

Identity verification through the KYC flow

Bybit's identity verification section is the route for confirming who holds the account, and its verification state is what several withdrawal limits key off.

Whatever the support ticket asks for on a suspended account

Where self-reactivation does not apply because the suspension is security-related, the request comes through support rather than through a standing checklist.

Context for the flagged withdrawal address

Where the risk warning is about the destination, the useful information is who controls that address and what the payment is for.

A cleared negative Funding Account balance

Not a document, but a precondition: Bybit suspends the Bybit Card and restricts withdrawals while the Funding Account is negative.

Set the anti-phishing code before you need it. Bybit states it appears in all official emails and SMS, so a message without it — or with the wrong one — can be discarded without further thought.

    When was your account blocked?

    What we actually do

    Separate maintenance from a restriction

The most common Bybit case needs no case at all. We check that first, because it costs nothing and it ends a share of them.

    From: compliance@bybit.com

Your account flagged for suspicious activity. Please complete KYC verification.

    Date the hold

A 1–7 day fiat lock and a 24-hour post-reactivation cooldown are answered by knowing when they started, not by escalating.

    Prepare the security-suspension route

Where self-reactivation does not apply, the ticket has to carry what Bybit needs to reverse a security decision.

    Threats

    Get the verification state right

Identity verification is what several of Bybit's limits key off. Fixing it is often the shortest path to a working withdrawal.

Check the counterparty before the transfer

Where a withdrawal was stopped by an address warning, the risk assessment is worth doing properly — after the transfer there is nothing to assess.

RISK: HIGH→ We recommend acting promptly

The decision is always the exchange's. What we control is that your case reaches it complete, correct and on time.

    Frequently asked questions

Why are my Bybit withdrawals suspended?

Bybit documents several distinct causes: wallet maintenance or a network upgrade for that asset, assets bought through Buy Crypto being temporarily locked where risk or abnormalities are detected, a fiat asset protection hold, a 24-hour restriction after an account is reactivated, and a negative Funding Account balance. They have different durations and different resolutions.

    unblock.exchange · today 14:23

How long does a Bybit fiat withdrawal hold last?

Bybit states that depending on the account's security status, fiat assets may be temporarily locked for withdrawal for 1 to 7 days as an asset protection measure. It does not publish a single figure that applies to every case.

    unblock.exchange · today 14:30

Can I reactivate a suspended Bybit account myself?

Not if the suspension is security-related — Bybit states the self-reactivation service does not apply in that case. It also states that once an account is reactivated, withdrawals are restricted for 24 hours.

    unblock.exchange · today 14:37

Bybit is showing a risk warning for my withdrawal address. What does that mean?

Bybit displays that window when its system detects a potential security risk associated with the withdrawal address. It is about the destination rather than about your account, and it is the last point at which the transfer can still be stopped.

    unblock.exchange · today 14:44

How do I know an email is really from Bybit?

By the anti-phishing code. Bybit states the code you set appears in all official emails and text messages, and that if it is missing or incorrect the message may be fraudulent and no link in it should be clicked. Suspected impersonation can be reported through Bybit's Authenticity Check page.
