    Binance Account Freezes: How the Official Appeal Process Works

    October 1, 20267 min read

    Binance account freezes have no single "appeal button": the route depends on what kind of restriction you have. Identity and facial-verification failures have their own appeal forms, P2P suspensions go through a separate Restrictions Removal Center, most other restrictions go through Customer Service, and some restrictions are not open for appeal at all. This guide follows the official routes as Binance's help centre describes them and explains how to prepare each one.

    Anyone searching for how the official Binance appeal process works usually wants one thing: a clear path from "my account is restricted" to "my funds move again". The honest answer is that there are several paths, that Binance publishes them in separate help-centre articles, and that the decision at the end of each one is Binance's. The Binance routes described below are taken from two Binance help articles as read in September 2026; menu labels can change, so check the current wording in your account. The practical advice is general preparation, not a Binance requirement.

    Step zero: what kind of restriction do you have?

    Binance's help centre describes several different situations that all look like "I cannot withdraw":

    • an automatic, temporary suspension of the withdrawal function after certain security operations, such as changing a password, which lasts 24 to 48 hours;
    • a suspension because the system detected abnormal activity, or because a withdrawal appeared to match known fraud patterns;
    • a restriction on withdrawals placed on a specific account, for which the help article says to contact Customer Service;
    • a failed identity or facial verification;
    • a P2P-specific suspension.

    Each has its own remedy. The first is not a review at all: Binance states that it cannot be lifted before the suspension period ends, so waiting is the correct response. The others need an action from you, and picking the wrong route costs time.

    How does Binance tell you about a restriction?

    According to Binance's help article on reactivating the withdrawal function, when a restriction is applied to an account, Binance promptly informs the affected users by email, SMS or in-app notification. Users also see a pop-up message on their next login attempt. That notice is the first document in your file. Save it, with the date, before you do anything else.

    The notice may not name the reason in detail. That is not unusual, and the exact reason for a restriction can be confirmed only by the exchange.

    What are the official appeal routes for Binance account freezes?

    Binance's help centre points to the following routes. The labels below are quoted as they appear on the help pages.

    1. Identity-verification failure on a withdrawal. Go to the Withdraw Crypto page and click [Withdraw appeal].
    2. Facial-verification failure. Click [Appeal] to open the Facial Verification Appeal page and submit the requested documents.
    3. Other account restrictions. The help article says to contact Customer Service directly, both for further questions about the restriction and if you wish to appeal it.
    4. P2P suspension. Use the Restrictions Removal Center inside the P2P User Center. See the next section.

    If you cannot find an appeal option for a restriction, the help article's answer is to contact Customer Service.

    How does the P2P route work?

    Binance publishes a separate guide to lifting a P2P account suspension. In outline: log in, open the P2P User Center, choose the Restrictions Removal Center, and click [Submit appeal] next to the suspended function. You then fill in the required fields with a detailed explanation, submit the documentation, and wait for the result by SMS or email.

    The documents the guide asks for include:

    • an identity-verification video;
    • three months of bank statements showing your name and card number (the first six and last four digits are enough, and Binance advises against showing the full number);
    • a payment-proof video that shows the transaction with the seller;
    • P2P order numbers, which the guide marks as optional;
    • supporting documents such as chat records or receipts.

    If a suspension reason shows an "Appeal unavailable" status, the guide says you are automatically redirected to Binance Support for further assistance. The guide also states a review time for these appeals; check the current page, as it can change.

    Which restrictions are not open for appeal?

    Binance says plainly that not all account restrictions are open for appeal. The help article singles out cases involving law-enforcement orders and regulatory obligations. In that situation the exchange may be acting on an instruction it did not create, so an appeal form may not apply, and legal advice in the relevant jurisdiction may be appropriate.

    One practical consequence: do not assume that a silent appeal means a weak case, because for these restrictions the appeal form may simply not apply. Be careful, too, with anyone who promises to lift such a restriction through "contacts" at the exchange.

    How do you prepare a Binance appeal?

    Whichever route applies, the preparation is the same in shape.

    1. Keep a timeline. Write down what happened in the days before the restriction: deposits, withdrawals, new devices, password or security changes, logins from other countries.
    2. Ask two narrow questions first. You can contact Customer Service yourself to clarify the reason for the restriction and the list of documents requested. Detailed explanations are better not sent at random, because contradictions in answers already sent can seriously complicate the case.
    3. Match documents to the request. Identity documents, proof of address, bank statements and wallet history for the deposits in question, and the paperwork behind the money's origin.
    4. Write one consistent account. Dates, amounts and addresses should agree across every document and every message.
    5. Send it through the official channel and keep the ticket number. Several parallel tickets on the same issue may make the case harder to follow, so keep your messages consistent.

    The Binance page of Unblock.Exchange lists reasons that may lead to a restriction.

    Which mistakes complicate an appeal?

    • Paying "unblockers" who contact you on Telegram.
    • Sharing SMS codes or authenticator codes, or giving anyone access to your account.
    • Submitting documents that are not genuine.
    • Ignoring the deadline in a request for documents.
    • Sending contradictory messages on the same issue.

    How can Unblock.Exchange help, and what can it not do?

    Unblock.Exchange is an independent compliance advisory and case-preparation service, not affiliated with Binance or any other exchange. We do not guarantee unblocking and we do not promise a date.

    The team studies your transactions, documents and correspondence, helps you structure the information and helps prepare answers to Binance's requests. You submit them yourself through the official channel from your own account, and you stay in control of the process. We do not ask for access to your exchange account.

    Based on our past cases, the work has taken 5–90 days depending on complexity, and some well-prepared cases have taken 7–12 days. These are examples from our practice, not a promise: complex cases can take longer.

    We work under a contract, through a company registered in Dubai. The first consultation is free, and before paid work starts we agree the terms. The retainer paid before work begins covers the team's work and is not refundable; a success fee applies only after you have withdrawn the funds from your account, and if the account is not unblocked there is no success fee.

    Write to us on Telegram @UnblockExchange or via the bot @UnblockExchange_bot, or email support@unblock.exchange. See also the exchange directory, the FAQ page and the blog. We usually reply quickly; the exact timing depends on the time of day.

    Frequently asked questions

    Where do I appeal a Binance account restriction?

    It depends on the type. For a failed identity verification on a withdrawal, Binance points to the Withdraw Crypto page and its appeal option. Facial-verification failures have their own appeal page. P2P suspensions go through the Restrictions Removal Center. For other restrictions, Binance's help article says to contact Customer Service.

    Are all Binance restrictions open for appeal?

    No. Binance states that not all account restrictions are open for appeal, in particular those involving law-enforcement orders or regulatory obligations.

    How long does the withdrawal suspension after a password change last?

    Binance's help centre describes an automatic temporary suspension of 24 to 48 hours after certain security operations and states that it cannot be lifted before the period ends.

    How long does a Binance compliance review take?

    The time depends on the case. Based on our past cases, the work has taken 5–90 days depending on complexity, and some well-prepared cases have taken 7–12 days. These are examples from our practice, not a promise: complex cases can take longer.

    Can I contact Binance support about the restriction myself?

    Yes, and it is useful for clarifying the reason and the list of documents requested. Keep the first message short, and hold back long explanations until you know what is being asked.

    Does Unblock.Exchange contact Binance for me?

    No. The team helps you understand the request, structure the information and prepare the answer; the messages to Binance are yours to send.
